"Patrol’s Guide to Fraud, Forgery, and Identity Theft" |
||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
| “Credit Card Fraud, Check Fraud, and Identity theft are by far the fastest growing crimes of the century. Often times, Patrol Officers are not equipped with the right information needed to handle and document these crimes. This is a no-nonsense course directed for the ‘front line’ patrol officers. It will give the Officer current and REAL tools to properly investigate and document Fraud and Identity Theft cases for successful prosecution” – Detective B. Kirkpatrick | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||

CLASS SUMMARY |
||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|
This is a "No-Nonsense" class for patrol officers, new detectives, or any law
enforcement person who would just like to clear the air about all of the
confusing fraud, forgery, and identity theft penal codes. If you have ever
looked at the Fraud related Penal Codes you know exactly what I am talking
about: There are overlapping codes, some are misdemeanors and some are
felonies, and the definitions themselves are very difficult to follow.
I will dissect the top 10 codes pertaining to Identity Theft, Credit Card Fraud, and Check Fraud. These codes will cover 95% of your calls for service and show you some other penal codes that many officers have told me they did not know even existed. Special emphasis placed on not "re-victimizing" the victim and a patrol officer's obligation. This is not another "insurance seminar" type class where you will be falling asleep and there is no need for a full week (40 hours) to accomplish what can easily be done in an 8 hour block! Numerous real life examples will be used and classroom participation is a must. |

TOPICS |
||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|
Identity Theft: Credit Cards, Checks, Government
Documents, Misuse of personal Information, N.S.F. Issues, Unknown Tickets
& Accidents, Utility Services, Mail Fraud, I.D. Cards, Social Security Cards,
Immigration Cards, and More!
This is a very straight forward class with real life examples from D.A. rejects to Felony filings. You will leave knowing exactly what the Penal Code and District Attorneys want for successful filings. I will also discuss how to avoid not getting your case filed and cover many of the "excuses" commonly used by the District Attorney's Office. |
